Rainy day ( not so rainy)

Yesterday I went to work in the morning ohh I forgot to tell you I’m a Pre-k teacher,as the new school year is beginning we are setting up our classroom for the arrival of the kids. In DR we were waiting for a storm to come ’cause as you know here we had a drought for several months and the heat was so intence that not even the air-conditioner worked. Well the storm came but in Santo Domingo at least didn’t rained that much there was breeze and some branches fell but that was it!

I spend the whole day doing errands since at work they let me leave earlier ’cause we had a “Red alert”. I bought some things to prepare burgers and fries, at least it was a fresh day.

Doggie Doggie

Hello everyone!

DSC_0015 DSC_0020 DSC_0018 DSC_0035

He is my puppy Marley ( he is not a puppy but to me he will always be my baby) a toy poodle, my partner in crime, friend, cuddly pillow =) and the most playful doggie ever. He enjoys playing with everything that he can chew, throw, chase well everything. I like to walk him to the park that is close to my home the “Mirador” It’s a big park in the middle of the city, every time we go there he comes with lots of sticks, leaves and dirt on his fur ’cause he is so playful that he goes and threw himself on the floor he is sooo funnny!

In the house he’s got lots of toys to play with and whenerver he wants to play with one of us around the house he would take a toy and put it in your bed next to you super sweet =). If you are sick he will cuddle with you until you feel better, everyone should have a puppy they are so caring and if you feel alone they will be with you unconditionally.

PS. THERE’S ONE PICTURE OF ONLY ME SHOWING MY DUTCH FISH BRAID!

Beating the Heat.

Ok, in DR we haven’t got any water for a long time and we are literary melting away all we talk about is how hot it is, we were hoping for a little rain at the beginning of the week but the only water we got was a little drizzle. So today I’ll give you the ultimate Pina Colada pops so fresh and delicious and you can add a little extra to make more adult friendly!

Prepare something cool and fun!

Pina Colada Pops Recipe:

(Makes 6 servings)

Blend the following ingredients:

1 (8 oz) can pineapple chunks, in juice

banana

1 (10 oz) can coconut milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pour into Popsicle molds and freeze for 4-5 hours.  (don’t forget the sticks!)

If you have any of the pineapple, banana, etc. mixture left, pour it into an ice cube tray, cover tray with plastic wrap, and insert toothpicks into the center of each “cube.”

10 1/2 ounces of bottled Pina Colada mix may be used in place of coconut milk.

A delicious tropical fruit the Guava <3

Guava

Hello everyone!

Today I sat down in my kitchen and wanted to have a refreshing fruit for breakfast in this warm morning in DR so I found a Guava in the fridge and though about researching what benefits does this delicious fruit give us. One thing I read and didn’t know about it’s that it is very rich in vitamin C that the natural high levels of vitamin C are 4x higher than oranges! Plus it has antioxidants that helps your skin feel young, and it prevents cancer.  So next time you think about trying a fruit or vegetable do a little research about it and find what benefits it gives you and share! =)

Halo Braid

Hello,

First I want to tell you that I’m obsess with braids its one of my many passions and one of my favorites its the Halo Braid. I like to follow Amber Fillerup ’cause she’s as obsess with braids as I am  and read an easy tutorial on how to do the halo braid as she says in the tutorial you’re not going to get it right the first time or the fifth =) but it will get better with lots of practice. Here there are some pictures of my tries and final product. Hope you like it!

Love,

Marina.
